July 28th, 2009Winebar Sexiness and Such
July 27th, 2009Went to minibar/winebar this past weekend for Johnny’s friend Alan’s Celine Dion Birthday Extravaganza. I must say, the addition they put on the back of the place is really stunning! It was (unfortunately for me the next day) a premium open bar. Things were going quite swimmingly until I decided to ask if Jager was on the menu…

Me and Johnny

Some guy was touching my boyfriend. That’s a no-no.

Johnny’s roommate Sharla. I like her! I’m surprised she’s not a lesbian.

…sooooo, Jager’s on the menu, right?

Dreams of New York, Jess, & Ethel Merman
July 23rd, 2009Sok, this is the first entry of my “Dream Journal” series, where I’m just going to record my various dreams in case I may want to check them for patterns or possibly try to interpret them. I’ve had a few rum & cokes; don’t judge me. :-)

I dreamed that I left Chicago and went to New York, I’m not sure why
My best friend Harmony was with me, and we shut off our phones
It was exciting and fresh and we enjoyed the fact that people didn’t know where we were
We were blissfully happy
Then I dreamed of my friend Jess, who was singing in a commercial for something like orange juice
Or something really stupid like that, but she was fabulous and I was proud of her
Cut to Ethel Merman singing disco songs, and playing in the snow
She was one happy bitch and sang like a pro
There was no film crew
Moving soon!
July 22nd, 2009So we finally have a set move date! At first we were supposed to move June 1st (and lost that apartment to another couple), then this apartment (which is being built) was supposed to be finished and ready by July 1st. Well, our leasing agent contacted us and told us that we couldn’t move in until August 1st – which was extremely frustrating because we had already started the packing process! When we went in mid-July to see the apartment, all the plumbing and electrical wires were installed, but they had to wait for their final inspection before they could close up the walls, and that hadn’t happened yet. SIGH. So, he called us the other day and let us know that they passed their final inspection (yay!) and they have started the drywalling. SO, our new move date is August 15th, absolutely, for-sure. Huzzah!! The apartment is so beautiful (we saw other, completed units when we signed onto it) and is going to allow me to emulate my dream bedroom! We have exposed brick, European-style cabinets, a dishwasher, laundry in-unit, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedroom, and an office. I can finally have my own office!
Anyway, here’s the colors we picked (will be with exposed-brick accent walls):
(Office, Living Room, My Bedroom, Harmony’s Bedroom)

I’m also going to do a Marilyn Monroe themed bathroom, with my Vanity Fair collector’s edition framed!

Bombs Away! Closing!
July 20th, 2009We had a fabulous closing night for Bombs Away! The audience was packed, and we couldn’t have asked for a warmer crowd. My best friend Harmony came the night before, and afterwards on closing night Johnny (my fabulous bf) came by (along with some old friends!) and we partied on into the night. Loooove it!

The crew at Mary’s Attic is awesome :) Happy closing, Bombs Away! -Eric M Chicago
